Stations of the Cross

Father walked us through the 15 Stations of the Cross.
  1. Jesus is condemned to death (He stood tall as those he healed and taught told lies about him)
  2. Jesus takes up his Cross (Accepting the cross did not make it any lighter, its weight shocked him)
  3. Jesus falls the 1st time (Tied to the cross he could not protect his face and flesh from the road)
  4. Jesus meets his Mother (Pain of torture hurt less than knowing that Mary watched him suffer)
  5. Simon helps carry the cross (Simon was forced to help Jesus)
  6. Veronica wipes Jesus’s face (She risked bodily harm to give a little help and reduce his suffering)
  7. Jesus falls the 2nd time (Again fatigue caused him to stumble, again he takes up the burden)
  8. Jesus meets the women (They cry for him, He is reminded of the agony making it worse)
  9. Jesus falls the 3rd time (He can carry the burden no more, but still he must go on)
  10. Jesus is stripped naked (One more cruelty, those in power often try to strip away dignity)
  11. Jesus is nailed to the Cross (All the pain before was insignificant compared with crucifixion)
  12. Jesus dies on the Cross (‘God why have you forsaken me?’, only a few loved ones remain)
  13. Jesus is taken down (Is he really dead? He can’t be)
  14. Jesus is laid in the tomb (Hope is lost, there is nothing to be done now, he is gone)
  15. He is Risen! (Anything is possible with God, there is light, carry your cross)

Please choose the two Stations that call to you.  Consider what it means and record your reflection in 4 sentences (a short paragraph).

Also in 4 sentences, explain the phrase, ‘my cross to bear’.  It may help to use struggles common to people your age as an example.

Station 6 and 9 spoke to me the most. Station 6 show me that no matter what I do in life I have to have the courage too be proud of my religion and always be able to give my all to God for he has given me his all. Station 9 gave me the sense and reliability of Jesus strength. He fell and picked himself right back up so I should do the same for him.
