About St. Luke Catholic Church
The official founding of our parish was on January 15th, 1985 and the first Mass was celebrated at Village Meadows Grade School on February 3, 1985.
St. Luke the Evangelist, the author of the third gospel account and the Acts of the Apostles.
St. Luke's symbol is the winged ox or bull, which is a figure of sacrifice, service and strength. This reminds us how we as Christians should be prepared to sacrifice ourselves in following Christ.
Luke's account begins with the duties of Zacharias in the temple; it represents Jesus' sacrifice in His Passion and Crucifixion, as well as Christ being High priest (this also represents Mary's obedience).
St. Luke is known as the patron Saint of Artists, Physicians and Surgeons. St. Luke was also an avid painter.
