Thank you for your prayers and support for the 2016 WYD Pilgrims!
Poland + Rome + Assisi
July 23, 2016 - August 5, 2016
with
Fr. Pawel Stawarczyk
Join St. Luke Catholic Church on this amazing faith filled journey along side millions of other Catholics from around the world.
We guarantee the impossible - Yes, we know, it is far, expensive, foreign. It takes cajoling, explaining, organizing.
It is impossible - We will do the work for you, just us.
Continue reading to learn what we offer, what you gain from joining and what are typical dilemmas.
It takes planning, organizing, executing, explaining, informing, counting, counting again, booking, double-checking, calling long distance, and much more. You can join in our fundraising efforts or plan your own.
By going to WYD you gain:
· an unparalleled experience of the Roman Catholic Church as a worldwide faith community
· personal experience of other young Catholics from across the world
· a cultural and historical experience of both Poland and Italy
· deeper relationships with other participants that carry over to life back in the US
In addition to all of the above, joining us gives your group:
· bilingual (English/Polish) companions with personal experience in both countries
· experts in all things WYD – we have participated in 6 other WYDs
· the tour company we are using started in Poland and have an office there which is convenient to help us
deal with any unexpected situations (visit them at https://www.johnpaulpilgrimagesandtours.com/)
Some of the typical and entirely understandable doubts:
· It is far - Yes, but that is the exciting part to be that far from home and to meet all those people. As long-
distance flight veterans, we assure you that the joys outweigh the hassle.
· It is expensive - Yes, that is, in our view, the biggest bummer. We have some ideas of fundraising and we
want to share them with you.
· It is frightening - We have totally been there, but it will not be a lost-in-a-jungle trip. We are experienced
and we will be with you all the way all the time. We speak the language, we know the places, and we will be
surrounded by caring locals from hosting parishes.
· It is exhausting – Yes, it will be, but will be worth it because we have the experience to make it worth the
trip. Joy will be your most prominent memory when you get back.
Places we are planning to visit:
· Cracow – a thousand years of Catholic history with authentic churches and monasteries that continue being
used by many modern spiritual people.
· Auschwitz / Oswiecim – the place of martyrdom of millions at hands of the technologically most developed
culture of the time
· Assisi – a still living medieval town where Franciscan poverty was born
· Rome – what can we say?
People we are planning to meet (apart from Pope Francis, of course):
· Groups of pilgrims from all over the world
· Special connections with locals
· Deeper bonding among participants from your parish and surrounding parishes
Our program is set, so please contact us with any questions you may have or to schedule an information meeting. We looking forward to you joining us on this great adventure.

World Youth Day Krakow 2016 Official
Prayer
God, merciful Father, in your Son, Jesus Christ, you have revealed your love and poured it out upon us in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, We entrust to you today the destiny of the world and of every man and woman. We entrust to you, in a special way young people of every language, people and nation: guide and protect them as they walk the complex paths of the world today and give them the grace to reap abundant fruits from their experience of the Krakow World Youth Day. Heavenly Father, grant that we may bear witness to your mercy. Teach us how to convey the faith to those in doubt, hope to those who are discouraged, love to those who feel indifferent, forgiveness to those who have done wrong and joy to those who are unhappy. Allow the spark of merciful love that you have enkindled within us become a fire that can transform hearts and renew the face of the earth. Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for us. St. John Paul II, pray for us. Amen.
