St. Luke Courtyard
In the past 11 years of me being Pastor we have always focused on being fiscally responsible.
We have never asked for additional support for any of our projects. We have been able to redo the parking lot, 2x, renovate the church and continue to manage the ongoing maintenance such as new A/C’s, broken pipes, roofing etc. Thank you for your generosity so far. We know it take two to tango, you continue to give, and we don’t take your generosity lightly. We are frugal in our spending decision. At regular intervals, we have financial audit by qualified independent accountants and we have always been evaluated as good stewards of your donations. As you know we had to remove the courtyard for safety issues just before Holy Week. By rebuilding courtyard it allows us to foster community beyond Mass – which we continue to build as families return to in person Mass. Plea – So for the first time, we are in a position that we feel we need to ask for additional support for the courtyard project, so not to dangerously deplete our savings. With the rising cost of building supplies and labor and no end in sight, we believe we need to get this done sooner than later. We would like to ensure courtyard is finished and not looking like a construction zone. There are currently monthly rental cost for the temporary shoring. As of now, the project cost is estimated at $175,000. Our budget is $100,000. Could you prayerfully consider additional financial support for us to complete the courtyard? Donations made will be earmarked for the project by notating ‘Courtyard’ on the envelope or check. |
What Happened to Our Courtyard???
The courtyard that has served this community for over 30+ years, has to be taken down to due to the wear from weather. We know it was a quick decision but it was done with the safety of the community in mind.
A few years ago, when we started the Diocesan Together Let Us Go Forth Campaign, we knew St. Luke would receive 35% of the funds raised. Our focus for the funds were to renovate the church entrance and we planned on the courtyard being part of that plan.
Although we did not plan on the project starting this soon, thanks to your generosity to the campaign, St. Luke has already received enough funds to cover the demolition of the courtyard.
We are working with architects now to plan on what will be going up in its place, fully knowing that we did not financially plan for the project this year.
We do not have a timeline as to when we will have a new design or even when we may begin construction, so please be patient as we work though the process.

Announcements
10/8/20
- We were hoping to celebrate Oktoberfest and the Feast of St. Luke on October 18th. However due not having a huge response, we are not going to pursue holding and event at this time.
- Do you want to learn more about the faith - Adult Formation/RCIA classes start on Sunday, November 8th from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. Contact the Parish Office to register or get more information.
- It is time for us to do a full Irrigation replacement on the grounds. We have been seeing the need for minor repairs over the past few years, by now those repairs are causing breaks further down the lines. The cost for the entire property to be redone is about $20,000. Please be mindful if you see open areas as they are replacing lines.
- We have 1 original AC unit that finally needs replaced. The good news is that it is the unit in the chapel, which is currently closed due to the pandemic. Once we are able to open the chapel, we will be installing the new unit.
- Did you notice the parking lot was crack sealed, recoated and repainted. We should not have the need for additional work on the parking lot for another 5 years.
